Press Release

Mount Shasta Artist’s Premiere Show at The Gallery in Mount Shasta
The Gallery in Mount Shasta invites you to enjoy inspiring paintings of stunning waterfalls, breathtaking vistas, and intimate corners of America painted by artist and local resident Stefan Baumann.  On July 10th from 4-7 pm, the Gallery located at 201 N. Mt. Shasta Boulevard, will host a reception that show cases the artist’s work.

The paintings on display are from Stefan Baumann’s private collection, some that have never been viewed by the public before.  A number of the paintings are part of a series of local landmarks that Stefan painted on location this spring in Siskiyou County.

Stefan’s art is elegant and mysterious, exciting and bold.  His paintings capture the mood and magic of landscapes and impressions from his own imagination.  Each painting becomes an experience rather than merely a picture.  Through his mastery of light, color, and artful composition, Baumann invites you to experience nature in its purity.  The paintings of Stefan Baumann reveal the true spirit of nature by transporting the viewer to landscapes that have gone unseen and undisturbed.

Baumann, the host of PBS television series “The Grand View, America’s National Parks through the Eyes of an Artist,” after seeing some of the most spectacular vistas in America, chose Mount Shasta to be his home.  “There is something wonderful about this place that speaks to me.  It is amazing how much talent there is in Mount Shasta, and how so many artists are eager to create grand works of art of the area.”

With 30 years experience as a professional artist and instructor, Stefan Baumann’s philosophy has touched, moved, and inspired millions of people throughout the nation through his television series and his classes.  He teaches beginning and advanced drawing and painting classes in Mount Shasta to local artists who want to express their love of art and painting.  Stefan offers a free class to anyone who wants to paint in his class and a free copy of his book about painting by requesting it on his home page.  Information about his classes, workshops, and television series is available by going to www.thegrandview.com or calling 1-800-511-1337.

“This is my dream come true; to teach and inspire people in my hometown makes me happy.”
